Christmas in Pyrmont were delighted to be able to donate $30,000 from the 2018 event to Ultimo Public School.
Below is a short report that details how the funds raised helped the school provide additional learning support to their pupils.
The Ultimo Public School community would like to thank Christmas in Pyrmont for the generous donation of $30,000 in 2018. These funds have been used to engage extra School Learning Support Officer (SLSO) hours to assist students (K-6) with emotional, behavioural, physical and/or intellectual support needs, both in the classroom and playground. The SLSOs, also known as Teachers’ Aides, support classroom teachers to assist students to access the curriculum and achieve success at their own personal level. In 2019, there are six students, receiving two to three hours of one-to-one support per day as opposed to one to two hours without the extra funding.
